some years have passed. the little girl is now a young lady. she combs the hair of the doll absently. she knows she really shouldn't be holding on to the doll anymore. but it holds so much sentimental value. she sat the doll on her knee. it was old and dirty. but she still couldn't bear to give it up. she held on to it for a little longer, merely delaying the inevitable.
