went to the mika concert on monday night. it was great. really. great. i was worried about mark tan getting mosh pit tixkets cos of mika's reputation of attracting alternative lifestlye followers, but damn he made the correct move getting the super ex mosh pit. i was very surprised at the kind of demographic that turned up for the event. i mean there were so many kids there! and his lyrics are definitely not very suitable for kids. so yar the mosh pit was very tame, no pushing and kicking, much.

but damn it was a blast. it was like a live 2-hour version of his 2 albums. even the bonus track! haha. it was everything you'd expect at a mika concert: over the top singing, outrageous outfits, huge props, everything! he was singing and jumping all over the place, backed up by an equally spontaneous band. it was just awesome. i still can't figure out how he managed to still have his voice at the end of it when he's been singing in falsetto for like 2 hours.

the few things i didn't quite like: the only merchandise available were t-shirts. the 3 designs were great, but that's it. nothing else. not even albums. like seriously??? i also wished he bantered more with the crowd. he's an excellent performer no doubt and the audience love him, but yar. needed more bantering with the crowd. i just wished i went to memorise the lyrics to relax cos he did it twice, opening and closing with that break-out hit... i'll be waiting for the next mika concert... :)
