been a long while since my last post. not been getting inspiration till now so here it goes

watched the my chemical romance concert. 1 thing to say, it rawks. it simply rawks. i mean i'm no rock fan but the performance by gerard way was spectacular. simply spectacular. let's just take it from the top.

reached there at close to 8. was utterly shocked that there was a queue from the entrance to the max pavillion. nearly wanted to join the queue like all typical singaporeans, but luckily i knew better and headed to the front to figure what was going on. turned out to be a wise decision as the queue was friggin long lah. stretched from like one end of max pavillion to the other lah. anyway it turns out those queuing were for the mosh pit, whereas i got the fixed seating ones. ah well that's one that turned out well.

so yeah, waited at the entrance. no hurry on my part, i'm bound to get seats anyway. so yeah. it's 8 and nothing's happening. the doors are still closed. i'm like what the hell, what's going on. the doors were supposed to open at 7, hello, it's like 8, the show's like supposed to start like now...? my sis, yar i watched it with her, was saying that u noe, the prob not started yet, since everyone's outside, makes no sense for them to perform to an empty crowd. so yeah, stood around. it was not til 9 that they let us in lah. like seriously what the hell lah...

anywayz. so we get in, get comfortable in our seats. a bit far from the stage but yeah not too bad. not some hard core fan anyway, so not desperate to get spit on by gerard way and his band mates.

so yar, we're sitting around, the mosh pit's getting filled, and its like huge lah... we're almost 100m away from the stage... suddenly the radio starts playing and then people start screaming. honestly i thought it was hilarious. there was a change of song and everyone's screaming again and standing up... like getting overly excited over nothing lah. damn funny

so finally the show starts and i'm blown away. gerard way is hands down, an excellent performer. no idea what cocktail of drugs he took backstage but he was literally bouncing all over the stage from start to finish. it was interspersed with slow pieces and solos from the pianist but nonetheless he was almost on all 1 1/2 hr of it. it was fabulous. it didn't really matter if you didn't know the lyrics, the songs captivated you all the same. of cos it brings you to the point of deafness but who cares? even those in the seats were standing on the seats on the seats mind you, jumping to the songs. i was hoarse at the end of the performance. i guess he's one of the few lead singers in rock bands who can sing and captivate the audience.

where i was, we weren't surrounded by hardcore mcr fans. most of them just stood around singing along as and when they knew the lyrics, but there were others who were enjoying the music.

another interesting point, he was like "motherfuckers, you all are beautiful" and teh crowd just went wild. not exactly excited to be called a motherfucker, but ok.... i mean he said motherfucker quite a few times and the audience just lapped it up. it was very interesting. there weren't much audience interaction other than these but it's good enough. in fact, all that mattered was their performance. you can be sure i'll be getting a ticket the next time they come to singapore.
