you know how they say that you know you're old when the artists you listen to are releasing greatestr hits albums and you own copies of them? i'm beginning to suspect that *gasp* i'm old!!! ok fine... old-er!!! i always knew i was old so not that great... anyway yar i own the steps gold, i.e. greatest hits, i own the aretha franklin greatest hits, george michael's 25 and now i'm intending to get christina aguilera's greatest hits album!!! no~!!! not to mention getting the robbie williams greatest hits album as well. been thinking about it for a long time but never got around to doing it. haiz, ah well...

i was reading the newspapers regarding the permanent art installations in the CBD. i was quite sad and a bit angry actually. so many people were so unreceptive towards the art installations. ok fine maybe looking at it 24/7 for the past/next 20 years is not too appealling, but some of these have become icons in their own right. take the sculpture outside the national museum. they have become icons of the national museum! and the bird by bothero at raffles place. i think that's a nice sculpture, and it has formed part of the landscape. of cos i have to say that you need a bit of explanation to guide the people in the correct direction, but i just feel that people are being too negative about them. seriously i think that there are only a few sculptures that singaporeans will have absolutely no complaints. firstly, a god of wealth. people will flock to it i tell you, in troves and lorries and bow down in homage. perhaps the only complaint they might have is that it's not big enough. it never is. the other one is perhaps dollar bills. people will practically worship it i tell ya. haiz...
