ok there are a few things that i think are simply overkill recently.

firstly, the overnight 'sensation' ris low. ok, her english is bad. ok she's finally relinquished the crown. what more do you want? it seems like everyone's getting their turn slamming her. first it was credit card fraud, then it's supposed cheating on exams. seriously man. what more do you want? sex scandals? will you finally be satisfied? what's with all this dredging up of all these past offences?

2. fann wong and christopher lee's wedding. this is really overkill. for almost 9 years, the media has been trying to find out whether they are together or not. and for 9 years it's been hush hush hush hush. after what seems like eternity, or possibly because the attention surrounding them has died down, they suddenly say, 'oh we're together'. then another eternity passes and 'oh we're getting married'. after so long, i don't care anymore. i don't care about their dream wedding, i don't want to see them feeding each other with cheesy music playing in the background on during my advertisements. i don't care if she looks like a million dollar bollywood princess. they had their chance at fame, it's over.

3. Phua Chu Kang Sdn Bhd. i repeat. PCK was retired for a reason. setting him in KL will not make him any funnier. on the flipside, it also says a lot about the state of affairs in english comedy in singapore. for the past what 10 years, no other comedy has achieved the success of PCK. why? because he speaks singlish? maybe that's one reason. but oh the horror, he speaks singlish. right. still, i already hear him sing badly at mrt stations. i don't need to see him again in another comedy series.

4. Michael Jackson. ok granted, he's the king of pop. he deserves the attention. but i think this is too much attention. it's like everyone is capitalising on his death and shoving michael jackson-related stuff down our throats. it's an overkill. seriously. how many more documentaries do we need in the next month? i think he's great, but there's only so many times i can listen to michael jackson music and watch michael jackson documentaries. so yar.
